Brighton 1-1 Villa: Grealish stunner rescues draw for Villa after Trossard goal

Jack Grealish's second-half stunner cancelled out Leandro Trossard's opener as Brighton and Aston Villa played out a 1-1 draw in a relegation clash at the Amex Stadium.

The tense game's first chances fell to Brighton - who started much more comfortably - as Dale Stephens has a goal-bound shot blocked by Kortney Hause after 20 minutes before Aaron Connolly missed an effort just past the near post minutes later.

It was the hosts who took the deserved lead as Neal Maupay fed Trossard who finished off a fine move, just moments after Jack Grealish had dragged a rare chance wide of the post up the other end.

Brighton failed to pose the same threat in the seocnd-half though as Villa grew into the game and were made to pay when Grealish collected Douglas Luiz's pass before smashing a left-footed strike past Matt Ryan with 15 minutes to go in front of the jubilant visiting fans.
