CL: Juve better record with Barca

Juventus have a fairly good record against Barcelona in Europe, but it’s above all a clash of players, including Arthur Melo and Miralem Pjanic against their old clubs.

These sides have been drawn together in Champions League Group G with Dynamo Kiev and Ferencvaros.

Juventus have faced Barcelona 13 times, most recently in the 2017-18 group phase, losing 3-0 at Camp Nou and drawing 0-0 in Turin.

The last time the Bianconeri beat Barca was 3-0 in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final in April 2017, decided by a Paulo Dybala brace and Giorgio Chiellini header.

The second leg was goalless, sending Max Allegri’s men through.

The most painful was no doubt the Champions League Final in June 2015, when Alvaro Morata had cancelled out the Ivan Rakitic opener, but Luis Suarez and Neymar secured the trophy for the Blaugrana.

In total, these sides have clashed 13 times in all competition with five Juventus victories, four Barcelona wins and four draws.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi get to continue their endless duel, which was interrupted after CR7 left Real Madrid for Juventus.

Messi tried to walk out on Barcelona this summer, citing a clause in his contract, but the club lawyers successfully blocked his path.

The sides exchanged players in August, with Arthur moving to Turin for Pjanic plus cash.
