Chelsea scouting Lazio wing-back Tavares

Chelsea are keeping tabs on Lazio wing-back Nuno Tavares.

Tavares cut ties with Arsenal last summer after a difficult time with the Gunners.

However, the Portugal international wing-back has thrived in Italy with Lazio and is being monitored closely by several clubs, including Chelsea, says The Sun.

Significantly for interested clubs, Arsenal hold no buy-back option or sell-on clause in Tavares' contract.

For their part, Lazio rate Tavares in the £40m class.
