Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu was left pleased after their 4-0 Champions League win at USG.

The result affirms Inter's form reversal after a slow start under Chivu.

The Romanian later said: "I'll take the good things we did today. You should never dwell on the past, but the last match is what counts. I'll take the important things we did today, for the performance and the victory.

"I'm happy  to be on nine points, to have not conceded, and happy for this group that's working so hard. Everyone made themselves available, and even with a few changes compared to Rome, everyone responded well."

On the turnaround, Chivu continued: "This team needed to be understood, defended: we can't forget last year's journey. Until April, it was a stratospheric team, then judged because it didn't achieve its objectives. They needed to be understood, defended, helped and trained.

"And sometimes even to be tough, because you have to say things to your face, accept the truth and leave disappointments behind, moving forward with conviction, desire and above all with passion. I didn't do much more: I listened, gave some advice, hugged a little more, because when people need help, you have to understand them, give them a caress, accept the fact  that when there are problems, you have to get into their hearts and minds to bring out the best in them.

"When you fall, you have to get up and move forward with conviction: a job done not only by me  but by a staff and a club that is close to everyone, that has given support to everyone. The road is still long: we mustn't fall or delude ourselves for a good moment, because football is such a bastard that moments will also come. difficult, but we will know how to react."
