Conceicao: Juventus players must accept blame for Tudor axe

Juventus attacker Francisco Conceicao insists the players must accept responsibility for the dismissal of former coach Igor Tudor.

Tudor was sacked last week and replaced by Luciano Spalletti.

Conceicao told Tuttosport: "We could have done more in the run of games we didn't win. It wasn't just the coach's fault; we had a lot of responsibility.

"When you don't win and you're a Juve player, the atmosphere becomes tense, but if we're here, we have to be ready."

He continued: "We made several mistakes; it's a combination of many factors. We looked at ourselves in the mirror, we talked a lot in the locker room.

"We're going out on the pitch, now we have to work with Spalletti. We're trying to assimilate his new ideas. I think we're doing a good job; we've started well. Now we have to win games.

"The coach is trying to build a close bond with us; we've analysed with him what we weren't doing well. Now we want to have the ball; we have a lot of quality, but sometimes we haven't expressed it. We're trying to play."

On what his father, the former AC Milan coach and Lazio star Sergio Conceicao, said of Spalletti, Francisco added: "He was happy he had arrived here: he told me he was great."
