The second El Clasico of the season between Real Madrid and Barcelona will be played on 2 March with a 20:45 pm (CET) kick-off time.

Speaking on the RAC radio programme El món a RAC-1, Javier Tebas confirmed that the week 26 game between Real Madrid and Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu will be staged at 2045 CET on Saturday March 2nd.

The very same week the second legs of the Copa del Rey are scheduled and just three days later, Madrid are in Champions League action as they face Ajax in the second leg of the Round of 16. Barcelona are in European action a week later as they face Lyon on March 13.

It will be the first time the two sides have met – assuming they avoid each other in the Copa del Rey tie – since Barca’s 5-1 thrashing of Madrid at the Camp Nou in October.

That match was the final game in charge for then Los Blancos boss Julen Lopetegui, who was subsequently replaced by Santiago Solari.

At the time of the announcement, Ernesto Valverde’s Barca are five points clear of Atletico Madrid at the top of La Liga and ten clear of fourth-placed Madrid.
