The closing game of the major Spanish football season in 2018/19 will be the Copa del Rey final, after LaLiga and Spanish FA (RFEF) bosses finally agreed on a date.
It is the one preferred by the RFEF given the top-tier had hoped their final round of matches would be the campaign's curtain call, as has now been agreed for the proceeding 2019/20 season.
Spain's Secretary of State for Sport, Maria Jose Rienda, mediated talks between the two parties with barely 24 hours left before the Higher Sports Council's deadline for finding an amicable solution.
The final round of LaLiga matches will be held on May 18 and 19.
