He might be one of the most composed players in the game, but even Cristiano Ronaldo gets nerves.

The Portugal star has spoken of his relief after opening his Juventus account with two goals in Sunday's 2-1 win against Sassuolo.

After three goalless games following his £100million summer move from Real Madrid, the 33-year-old broke the deadlock in the 50th minute and doubled his tally for the match and season 15 minutes later with a cool left-footed finish.

Ronaldo credited his team-mates for helping him settle in Italy and adjust to Serie A's style of play.

'I'm very happy, I thank my team-mates for helping me to adapt to the league. There was a bit of anxiety after my move from Real,' Ronaldo, who asked to be left out of the last Portugal squad to build his fitness, told Sky Italy.

'The lack of goals? This is football, but winning is most important.'

Sassuolo pulled a goal back in stoppage time but Juventus held on to record their fourth straight win of the league campaign.

Attention now turns to their opening Champions League game away to Valencia on Wednesday night.

Ronaldo, a five-time career winner of the tournament, is relishing making his bow in Juventus colours.

'I feel it (Juventus) is my home, I cannot wait,' he said of the match.

Juventus will also face Swiss side Young Boys and Ronaldo's former club Manchester United in Group H of the tournament.
