David Silva is going to leave Manchester City next summer. The Spaniard explains why in a recent interview.
“Obviously, it's difficult [to leave after so many years]. It's been a long time, but all good things come to an end," he said.
"I want it to be this way, at a great level. The club has changed a lot. Every year, the team and the club have improved. That's why lasting here for a long time and playing regularly is really difficult.
"For that reason, I'm very pleased for what I have achieved during my time here.”
As difficult as it may be for City fans to think about, what next for Silva? The Spaniard has previously said he would like to return to Las Palmas one day before he retires, although there were reports in summer that a Japanese club were looking to sign him.
For now, the veteran playmaker says he has not made up his mind on the next move. “Life goes on, we'll see," he said.
"I don't know what I will do yet. I'll take some time to relax and then I'll think about it.”

I get the joke on City having no ‘legends’. But in the last decade, name me a PL club that has produced more ‘legends’ than City (David Silva, Sergio Agüero, Vincent Kompany, Yaya Touré, etc). I’ll wait.
