Gianluigi Donnarumma told Milan he wants to stay, which means reducing his salary with a new contract.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the goalkeeper has made it clear to the new owners Elliott Management that he is committed to rebuilding the Rossoneri.
He had been first on the list of transferrable players, as he has the highest asking price of over €50m and is a product of their youth academy, so would count as 100 per cent profit.
However, Paris Saint-Germain only offered cash plus Alphonse Areola and Milan rejected the proposal.
Now, Donnarumma wants to stay at San Siro, but he’ll have to sign a new contract with a much lower salary than his current €6m per year deal.
The key could be extending it to 2022 and spreading the existing wage for a longer time period.

If he does that he is one of the very few that love his club and can be compared to the likes of Gerrard, Lampard and Drogba who wouldn't leave not even for Barça or RM, cause of the love they had for their clubs.
