ESPN: Garnacho to hold talks with Man Utd over potential transfer in coming days

According to ESPN, Alejandro Garnacho is set to hold discussions with Manchester United officials in the coming days to explore the possibility of a summer transfer. The 19-year-old Argentine winger is reportedly unhappy with manager Rúben Amorim’s tactical decisions—particularly being limited to just 20 minutes off the bench in the UEFA Europa League final.

Sources claim Garnacho is disappointed with his role in key matches and is now considering a move away from Old Trafford. His representatives are expected to meet with the club’s hierarchy to assess options. United are reportedly open to a sale this summer, with Chelsea and Napoli both monitoring the situation closely, and clubs from Saudi Arabia also expressing interest.

With United missing out on Champions League qualification—and a potential £100 million in revenue—selling Garnacho, a product of the club’s academy, would represent pure profit under Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), aiding their summer rebuild.

However, sources emphasized that any transfer would require a “reasonable offer” and that United are not forcing Garnacho out. His contract runs until 2028, with an option for a further year. Amorim is still expected to assess his value within the tactical setup, but dressing room insiders suggest that “a breakdown in trust” between player and coach may be difficult to repair.
