On the night England fans said goodbye to Wayne Rooney, the Three Lions' stars of tomorrow impressed in a 3-0 win over the United States.
Match Events
6' WHAT A CHANCE! Alli's header off the crossbar
The hosts win a succession of early corners and the second is headed at goal by Alli, forcing a fine save from Guzan as he tipped the ball onto the frame of the goal. However, the flag is raised as the delivery went out of play.
24' WHAT A SAVE! Pickford denies Pulisic's shot
Pulisic weaves his way through the England defence and surges through on goal. However, Pickford is on hand to make a strong save.
25' GOAL! England 1-0 United States (Lingard)
Lingard opens the scoring with a stunning strike! Alli wins the ball back in midfield to spark an attack, feeding a pass to Lingard on the edge of the area to shape up before curling perfectly beyond the reach of Guzan.
Excellent play from Alli to win the ball back before combining with Chilwell, who has been impressive so far, before cutting a fine pass to Lingard.
27' GOAL! England 2-0 United States (Alexander-Arnold)
Wilson is tackled inside the area but the ball falls kindly for Sancho, who taps a pass to Alexander-Arnold and the full-back hits a fierce strike into the far corner that Guzan can do nothing about.
Slick play from Sancho and he had the awareness to find Alexander-Arnold in a position where he could have gone for goal himself.
66' CLOSE! Wood's header over the bar
Best chance of the second half for the United States as a corner is taken short to Pulisic, who floats a cross into the middle where Wood rises highest and nods an effort over the top of McCarthy's crossbar.
77' GOAL! England 3-0 United States (Wilson)
Delph curls an inviting cross into the six-yard box where Wilson gets to the ball ahead of Brooks and stubs home a debut goal. He has worked hard all evening and has now claimed his reward.
A fine delivery from Delph, who is now playing on the left side of defence after Chilwell's departure earlier in the half.
90+2' Rooney almost scores on his final international game
Match Report
Wayne Rooney bade a fond farewell to England as an experimental Three Lions side coasted to a 3-0 friendly win over the United States at Wembley on Thursday.
Gareth Southgate's decision to give all-time leading goalscorer Rooney a cameo caused some pre-match controversy with record appearance holder Peter Shilton saying caps should not be "given out like gifts".
But, after being presented with a golden plaque prior to kick-off, he received a rousing reception and, as Rooney becomes a part of England's past, Southgate will be delighted by his glimpse into the future.
Jadon Sancho, making his first England start, was a constant menace and set up Trent Alexander-Arnold for his first international goal shortly after Jesse Lingard's sublime opener.
Debutant Callum Wilson then earned a deserved goal to round off the win in the second half on a decent night all round for England - one that would only have been made sweeter had Brad Guzan not denied Rooney in stoppage time.

Nice send of for Rooney, he is an English legend and will always be remembered as one of the best international and club players. And on another note, Sancho is looking like he could be the future of England. I want to see Sancho and Odoi play alongside each other one day. 2 youths with insane talent. Also want to see Mount in the line up. He's the type of midfielder England lacks...

This boy Sancho, what a fantastic player! I don't think England deserve a well-talented football like Sancho. very soon bigger teams will try to take him off from Dortmund. Congrats to England and good luck to Rooney who's there best player in their recent history.
