Rodolfo Landim, the president of Flamengo, has confirmed that talks with Inter over the permanent transfer of Gabriel 'Gabigol' Barbosa are 'well underway' but also revealed that the player has asked for talks to be postponed until later on.
“We have had initial contact with Inter. We have not closed any deal with them yet but the negotiations are well underway with them,” he explained in an interview with Brazilian news outlet Lance!.
“It is clear that it is all down to what the player wants and then we will have to discuss personal terms. Further talks are scheduled for the end of the year.”
He concluded the interview: “Gabigol has made it known to us that he wants to talk about his future only at the end of the season, which has been extended due to the Club World Cup.”
