Pep Guardiola praised the importance of Sergio Aguero rediscovering his goalscoring touch in Manchester City's 3-0 victory over Fulham.
City's all-time record goalscorer found the net for the first time in 417 days as he converted a second-half penalty at Craven Cottage.
Aguero, whose last goal came in January 2020, completed the full 90 minutes in an added boost for Guardiola and his title-chasing side.
'Of course, if everyone wants to jump inside the bus they are more than welcome,' Pep said.
'Of course it's so important his goal and he played 90 minutes for the first time in a long time, he moved really well against a tough, tough side.
'They followed him almost man-to-man when he dropped. It was not easy, but we were patient and especially solid in behind, defending really well, not conceding.'
City were made to work hard during the first half against the resurgent Cottagers, but three costly errors in first 15 minutes of the second period proved decisive.
Guardiola hailed his players for retaining their discipline after a frustrating opening 45 minutes.
'There are moments when we have to run but when we cannot run we have to keep the ball,' he explained.
'Football is not just counter-attack or just keep the ball. The actions allow you to do what you have to do in every moment.
'As a team you have to know exactly what to do. In football, the right thing is to take the right decisions and let the game of football itself dictate what we have to do.'

jesus is not a clinical goalscorer.... he takes so much time to decide on what to do or how to score giving opponents time to mark fellow players and himself when in the box-yard. He is so good outside box but loses concentration inside box nt any near Aguero tht has a killer instinct inside box forexample watch how he scored against Fulham taking a touch into more players on the right with an open goal to the left.... a keeper to beat against wolves and united tht he failed... he is good bt not yet to the standards of a perfect striker

It's not about the penalty but the goal scoring spirit behind the goal. I know this is beyond your reasoning, "deep understand the deep."

nonsense Aguero scored his first goal after a long time (more than a year) so this goal is very important for him and his career so as a coach it's Pep's responsibility to give him confidence and help him relaunch his career so even if it is a penalty then also it has a great importance.

im happy that he scored but he lost the ball too many times and he needs to press like Jesus is doing...he needs to get back to the basics though... Jesus's goal came from pressing on opponents...I hope this goal will give him much confidence
