Michael Gray has urged Man United to join the race for Cristian Romero, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Inter also interested in the Tottenham defender.
Man United are being urged to pursue Arsenal and Chelsea transfer target Cristian Romero in order to reunite the Tottenham defender with his Argentina compatriot Lisandro Martinez at the club.
Romero is under contract with the North London club until 2029, but following the arrivals of van Hecke and Senesi, he is expected to leave Tottenham this summer.
The Tottenham captain is not expected to lack suitors among European teams, especially after helping Argentina reach the World Cup final in North America this summer.
Serie A champions Inter are reportedly preparing a โฌ50 million (approximately ยฃ42 million) bid for Romero. Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has confirmed that the club is pushing to sign the 28-year-old.
Ausilio told Sky Sport Italia: "This is indeed a deal we are trying to finalize with the player and the club. These things take some time, but there is indeed interest; let's see."
"We are interested in signing Cuti Romero. We have met with his agent and have also spoken with Tottenham. Let's see what happens."
However, Inter could face competition, with reports from Italy suggesting that Arsenal and Chelsea are both exploring the possibility of signing the Tottenham defender.
Defending Premier League champions Arsenal are considering strengthening their defense following reports that Saliba will be out for an extended period due to a back injury.
Meanwhile, Chelsea hope to add much-needed experience to Xavi Alonso's squad after performing poorly in the closing stages of last season.
But former Premier League winger Michael Gray believes Man United should also join the race to sign Romero, particularly given his successful partnership with Lisandro Martinez at the World Cup.
Michael Gray said on talkSPORT: "If it were up to me, I wouldn't hesitate to bring him to Man United. Reunite Martinez and Romero and, whether you love them or hate them, you know what they can bring."
"I think under Michael and his coaching staff, if they can calm him down a bit, then there's no doubt he has the ability and is an excellent center-back."
"Whether Man United will look at that position, I don't know, because they obviously have Heven and Yoro coming through."
"He's a very talented player. He's played in two consecutive World Cup finals, has Premier League experience, and is still at a good age."
Gray continued: "His value also lies in what he can bring to the dressing room. Don't forget, he's a World Cup winner and a World Cup finalist. He also played in the Europa League when they beat Man United."
"You might look at his age, character, personality, what he obviously couldn't bring to Tottenham last season, and the red cards you just mentioned. But in my opinion, he brings much more than that."
Man United have already signed Andre Santos and Tielemans this summer to strengthen their midfield, while Dalot has also joined on a free transfer from Leeds United as a backup goalkeeper.
It is claimed that Man United are still looking to sign another midfielder this summer, with Baleba and Khephren Thuram both on the club's shortlist.

After seeing their performance at WC is really not a bad idea. Even though he's a reckless guy but so far I've seen improvement in his fouls, cards and penalty conceed.

Pls, do not loose focus on the defense too. Martinez, De-ligt n are prone to injuries. U need additional player at the back too. As for midfielders, add kone and lets go. Another solid striker needed considering the challenges ahead.

It will be a disaster for Manchester United. Because one is prone to Red cards and another one is prone to Injuries. A big NO for sure

Injury is not a choice. You sell him today and a new player who made with iron. If he is a human being he can be injured by opponents. Are you selling him too?
That's my opinion. You're entitled to yours
