The former Milan, Bologna and Genoa player Kevin Constant has decided to retire from football at the age of 32.

After a spell in Iran with Tractor, the former Serie A player has been without a club since the end of last season and decided to retire citing “personal reasons” as the reason for why he stops.

“For personal reasons I have taken the decision to officially stop my professional footballer career,” he wrote on Instagram. “This is the most difficult decision in my life and it’s with a lot of sadness that I say goodbye to football.

“It’s time for me to devote my time to my children, my family and my future plans. I leave this world to find a simple life.”

The midfielder also played for Chievo Verona in Serie A and collected 105 games at the top tier in Italy. He played 45 games for Milan and contributed two assists between 2012 and 2014.
