Gennaro Gattuso admits it was “a childhood dream to lift a trophy with Milan” and looks back over his playing career, including the vainest teammate.
He was a star of the Rossoneri midfield from 1999 to 2012, then returned as Coach with the task of reminding players what representing this historic club truly means.
“Milan have always been a dream, as I supported this side when I was a kid,” Gattuso told DAZN Italia.
“When Milan won the European Cup against Steaua Bucharest, my father took me to see the parade. My dream has always been to lift a trophy wearing the Milan jersey.”
Rino was asked about his many teammates over the years at San Siro and specifically the vainest.
“David Beckham, Marco Borriello and of course Fernando Redondo, who wore a different outfit every single day. It’s more difficult to pick the most talented teammate, because I played alongside many Ballon d’Or winners.
“Kakha Kaladze was the biggest troublemaker and whenever I wanted to stir up some trouble, he was always the first to back me up. When my birthday would go by, he’d start a countdown and remind me every single day of how long it was until my next birthday.”
Gattuso was asked the strangest thing he’d ever done for a bet and went back to a story that remains legendary among his teammates.
“The day before the Champions League semi-final against Manchester United, I had the idea of eating a snail. Everyone was shocked.”

no one say anything about how Milan now is better than Milan 2016 - 2015 but for me i think with Gattuso we will still here in the 5th or 6th place because if you go back to last season and see how much points Milan have after 28 rounds you will find that Milan didn't change much and for the 4th place if Lazio and Roma didn't struggle with their teams this year you will find us in the 6th place right now 🙁 bro Gattuso is good but we deserve better.

It’s not about loyalty or respect? Lol then what’s it about? Switching coaches right now would be the worst possible thing this club could do. If you don’t remember, in the past 5 seasons we’ve had so many different coaches and it messed up the entire club. Under gattuso we finally have a consistent system to play under and you want to get rid of him? Before we can be a top team again like juventus and compete for the title we have a long way to go, if you think we can just get a new coach and be a top team then you’re completely mistaken. Gattuso has restored the fighting passion and mentality that this club has been missing for so long, so before you judge him look at the impact he’s had on the club that all the coaches before him failed to have.
first bro i didn't say that we have to replace him now no . i was taking about next season also i didn't take anything away from him because he did good things for us and get us to the 4th place it will be the best thing he will do 👏 but if we want more than this we should consider another coach because Gattuso isn't ready for big clubs with big players next year in CL 💪 and he prove it last year against Arsenal and this year with average team like Betis 😒 so please bro don't get me wrong i like this club like you do but how i should be optimistic with him if he can't beat Inter or Juventus 🙁 Milan need big coach like Conti not Gattuso who was happy about the drew against Frosinone 🤔.
