The Italian club presented its fourth kit on Wednesday, inspired by the colors of the Argentine club, founded by Genoese immigrants in Buenos Aires.
Genoa unveiled its fourth kit on Wednesday, a navy blue shirt with a yellow stripe in the center, inspired by the colors of Boca Juniors, to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the birth of the Argentine club, founded by Genoese immigrants in Buenos Aires.
The new kit maintains Boca's blue and yellow color scheme but incorporates the Genoa crest with its iconic Grifo, the symbol of Italy's oldest club.
As a special detail, the inscription 'ZENEIXI' has been added to the back, just below the neck, the Genoese adaptation of 'Xeneizes', a term that originally meant "Genoese" and which over time became a symbol of identity for the Buenos Aires club.
With this jersey, Genoa pays tribute to Boca Juniors, one of the most successful teams in the world, founded in 1905 by Genoese immigrants who had settled in Buenos Aires.
For the kit launch, Genoa has prepared a photography and audiovisual campaign led by photographer Sam Gregg, with the aim of capturing the emotional, cultural, and footballing ties that unite Genoa and Buenos Aires.
This release not only celebrates their shared football history, but also pays homage to the waves of migration at the beginning of the 20th century, when thousands of Genoese settled in Argentina, the Italian club explained in a statement.
Genoa will debut this fourth kit on March 29 in their Serie A match against Juventus in Turin.
