Giovanni Simeone claimed the answers lie in the “small details” at Cagliari this season and admitted they want to fight for the Champions League.
Cagliari are fourth in Serie A this season after impressing during the first half and Simeone admitted they have arrived at a moment to “push even harder.”
“We have been working hard, but the moment to push even harder has arrived,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “Everything is down to the small details, to arrive early for training and do everything with extra attention.”
The Rossoblu will get the opportunity to make a statement against third-placed Lazio this weekend and Simeone said they must be “focused” against the Biancocelesti.
“It will be a great match,” he added. “We need to be focused, because Lazio are very strong in attack.”
The former Fiorentina player also pointed at his experience in Florence last year, as he had to answer the Gazzetta dello Sport about Cagliari’s chances of securing a place in the Champions League next season.
“We really want to arrive, we are thinking about it,” Simeone admitted. “But the reality is that we are still six months away from the end of the season. Last year in Florence, we started the season well, but kept our place in the league during the last round.”
