Goretti has been promoted from within after the departure of his predecessor Daniele Prade last week, while new coach Paolo Vanoli was appointed last week after the axing of Stefano Pioli.
At Vanoli's presentation, Goretti said: "I have something to say about the chaos: the club was ready, but the essential facts are always seasoned with a series of news that aren't always true.
"From Pradè's resignation, to Lecce, to Pioli, everyone proved ready. It was a difficult decision on Pioli's part and an admission that we were all wrong. He was fired, never asked for a severance package, and thought he could resolve the situation.
"It was a difficult decision, both personally and professionally. Just like Pradè's departure, who brought me into this adventure a year ago, and I thank him.
"We decided to reset because the results are reflected in the standings. We need to convey to the players that there will be suffering and that this situation will last a long time."
