Hazard wants to join Real Madrid because 'he believes it will be his only chance'

Eden Hazard reportedly wants to push through a move to Real Madrid this summer because he believes it will be his only chance of joining the Bernabeu giants.

The Belgium superstar admitted earlier this month that he is ready to snub a £300,000-a-week new deal and leave Stamford Bridge.

Champions League winners Real Madrid lead the chase for his signature as they look to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo's departure to Juventus.

Los Blancos are yet to table a bid for the winger but new Blues boss Maurizio Sarri will be desperate to keep hold of one of his star men.

Chelsea have slapped a £200million price tag on Hazard's head in a bid to fend off potential suitors.

However, Bleacher Report claim contact has been made with the 27-year-old's representatives to sound out whether he would be keen on a move to Madrid.

And it is also reported Hazard fears this transfer window could present his only chance to move to the La Liga giants, and would welcome a switch to Spain if Madrid come calling.

Meanwhile, Hazard appeared in Chelsea 's new away kit launch to hint at the Belgian remaining with the Blues.

But Roberto Martinez, his national team coach who has spent the past six weeks with Hazard, believes he should go.

Martinez said: “Players need new challenges and new projects. Perhaps it’s a good time for [Chelsea] and for Eden [to split]. I would be very surprised if Chelsea didn’t have big offers for him right now.”
