According to the latest report by Romano, Rúben Amorim will be Milan's new head coach.

Romano stated that the two parties have reached a verbal agreement on a contract valid until June 2028, with an option to extend until June 2029.

Amorim has accepted all conditions and will officially sign this week to become Milan's new head coach.

Rúben Amorim is a Portuguese coach who, as a player, was an accomplished midfielder for Benfica and represented the national team at two World Cups. From 2020 to 2024, he led Sporting CP to break a 19-year monopoly, winning two Primeira Liga titles and two Portuguese League Cups. He later served as head coach of Premier League club Man United and was dismissed in January 2026, having won Premier League Manager of the Month once.

Previously, although Milan had contacted Glasner, no agreement was reached between Glasner and Milan. According to Romano, Glasner had been waiting for updates from Milan for the past 12 to 13 days, but he is unlikely to receive them, as contact between Glasner and Milan had in fact been broken off for some time, despite earlier rumors that an agreement had been reached.
