How did Maradona die: cause of death of the Argentinean legend

The Argentinean authorities have confirmed that Maradona passed away at midday local time in his house in the province of Buenos Aires.

Diego Maradona died of natural causes, according to district attorney John Broyad, who attended the Argentinean legend's house in Tigre, in the province of Buenos Aires, where Maradona passed away today.

"Regrettably we have to report the death of Diego Armando Maradona at approximately 12 noon," said Broayd. "At 16:00 the Scientific Police of San Martín, San Isidro and La Plata started their work. They are the most highly qualified," he continued.

Autopsy to be carried out on Maradona's body

Broyad then set out the next steps: "As of 18:00 the autopsy will be carried out at the San Fernando Hospital morgue. There were signs of criminality or of violence. The autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of death, but we can say that the death appears to be due to nothing other than natural causes".
