Real Madrid’s summer transfer window was uncharacteristically dominated by players leaving the club, rather than making the move to the Spanish capital.
Raphael Varane signed for Manchester United, Sergio Ramos departed for PSG and Martin Odegaard ended up joining Arsenal on a permanent move, having been on loan at the Gunners last season.
However, despite selling off a number of first team players, Madrid loaned out even more as young players and back-up stars were released in order to pick up some vital game time.
So how are Madrid’s loaned out stars getting on at their respective clubs this season?
How many players do Real Madrid have on loan?
Real Madrid have eight players out on loan from the first team, while the Castilla side also has a number of younger players out on loan.
Where is each Real Madrid player on loan?
Brahim Diaz - Milan
Takefusa Kubo - Mallorca
Alvaro Odriozola - Fiorentina
Reinier - Borussia Dortmund
Borja Mayoral - Roma
Diego Altube - Fuenlabrada
Victor Chust - Cadiz
Augusto Galvan - Santos
How are they performing?
Brahim Diaz (Milan): Diaz has made an excellent start to his second spell on loan at Milan, registering four goals and two assists in 10 starts. The most notable goal came against Liverpool in the Champions League.
Takefusa Kubo (Mallorca): Despite already making six appearances for Mallorca, Kubo is yet to register a goal or an assist in La Liga. He has, however, recently been struggling with a knee injury.
Reinier (Dortmund): Much like his loan spell at the Bundesliga side last season, Reinier continues to struggle to break into the Dortmund first team. This campaign, he has been limited to just 164 minutes of action in all competitions.
Borja Mayoral (Roma): Despite making the move to Italy for some more game time, Mayoral has so far only made three substitute appearances for Jose Mourinho's Roma side in Serie A. He has yet to register a single goal or assist.
Alvaro Odriozola (Fiorentina): Odriozola made his Serie A debut, off the bench, in an impressive 2-1 win away to Atalanta. Since then the young Spaniard has made a further eight appearances in the Italian top flight.
Diego Altube (Fuenlabrada): Altube has started 13 matches in the Spanish Segunda Division for Fuenlabrada, recording five clean sheets in that time.
Victor Chust (Cadiz): Chust has featured on seven occasions in La Liga for Cadiz, though has only actually played in one victory which came against Celta.
Augusto Galvan (Santos): Galvan is yet to make an appearance for Santos in the Brazilian Serie A.
