Next Tuesday’s Champions League match with Tottenham Hotspur is worth much more than taking Inter back to the Champions League after a six year absence for owners Suning.

According to a report from Corriere dello Sport, with Tuesday’s match, Inter will be the first majority Chinese owned club to play a match in the Champions League. Inter will however not be the first club to compete with a Chinese presence in their club as both Atletico Madrid and Manchester City have competed with a Chinese presence of their own albeit with it a minority presence instead.

Moreover, the report from the Rome based newspaper goes on to add that Steven Zhang, son of Inter owner Jindong Zhang, will be back in the stands this Saturday when Inter take on Parma. Zhang was in China for Inter’s 3-0 win over Bologna and will also be in Milan for the Champions League clash with Spurs.
