The postponement of the European Championship's form this Summer to next could be a blessing in disguise for Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni according to a report in today's print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

European football's governing body UEFA, in agreement with their 55 member associations, decided at a meeting yesterday to push the tournament back a year in order to allow leagues and cup competitions, which have been put on hold due to the global Coroanvirus pandemic, to finish.

With the tournament pushed back a year, it could mean that Bastoni makes Roberto Mancini's squad for the tournament, which is to be held across a number of host cities across the continent.

The report from the Milan based newspaper states that Mancini is looking at the current situation with a glass half full as next Summer he will hopefully be able to have players available to him that he would not have had this Summer such as the currently injured Nicolo Zaniolo and young players he has been keeping his eye on will also be another year older and wiser.
