Inter have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Independiente and Argentina midfielder Maxi Meza.
According to Sport Mediaset, talks have resumed between Inter and Meza’s camp, with the chances of a deal for Real Madrid’s Luka Modric decreasing by the day.
However, the broadcaster warns the 26-year-old is not a priority for the Nerazzurri, who still ‘dream’ of Modric and could also target Zenit St Petersburg man Leandro Paredes.
Meza rose to prominence earlier in the summer as a rare bright spark in Argentina’s World Cup squad, which crashed out at the last-16 stage.
