Inter to renew Mkhitaryan's contract, De Vrij still hesitating

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Internazionale has several players whose contracts are set to expire, and whose futures are uncertain. Maignan believes that Mkhitaryan and De Vrij will stay.

The Armenian will stay. Mkhitaryan just turned 37 in January, and the Internazionale management has been considering renewing his contract, eventually making an official offer. The former Manchester United and Roma midfielder is not only a quiet leader in the dressing room but is also considered a very practical player due to his versatility: he now primarily plays as an interior midfielder, but for many years he was an excellent attacking midfielder, and can also fill in as a defensive midfielder if necessary. Mkhitaryan has no major issues with taking a pay cut to stay with the team, and he has previously stated that he hopes to end his career at Internazionale.

De Vrij's situation is similar. The Dutch center-back is younger, having just turned 34 in February, and has therefore attracted interest from overseas teams, which has made him start to carefully weigh his options.

Apart from financial factors, Internazionale has made its stance clear, offering him a contract lower than his current salary, which is consistent with his role in the team. He would be a very reliable substitute at center-back, but not an absolute starter.
