Inter president Giuseppe Marotta says Simone Inzaghi's contract extension will be a "formality" should the head coach wish to remain at the club.
Inzaghi, who took charge of Inter in May 2021, will see his current deal expire at the end of the 2025-26 season, though it is expected he will remain with the Serie A side.
Since arriving at the club, the 48-year-old has won 134 of his 201 games in charge across all competitions (D36 L31), posting a win percentage of 66.67%.
Inzaghi also guided the club to the Serie A title last season, along with winning two Coppa Italia titles and three consecutive Supercoppa Italiana trophies.
Inter also reached the Champions League final in 2023 under Inzaghi's stewardship, but lost 1-0 to Manchester City in Istanbul.
The Nerazzurri are currently three points clear at the Serie A summit, and Marotta is confident of continuing the relationship between Inter and Inzaghi moving forward.
"We are very happy with Inzaghi, his contract renewal is a formality," Marotta told Radio Anch'io Lo Sport.
"He has worked really well over those years, and he is a role model for the whole club from a technical point of view.
"He is one of the best managers around, and he also has the advantage of being a once great footballer.
"We are very happy to have him with us and I think that, when all is said and done, we will get together with the club and renew his contract."
Marotta also spoke about Inter's attack amid reports that they are looking to strengthen at the top end of the pitch when the current campaign ends.
Inzaghi's team are the top scorers in Serie A this season with 65 goals, with Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez netting 24 of those combined.
"The Attack? I must say that, seeing our statistics, we have the most prolific attack in the league, so we have no issues there," Marotta said.
"Maybe we didn't manage to score in one match. In all the others, we found the back of the net. I would say there isn't an issue.
"Inzaghi's set-up works well, as a team ready to pounce forward. [Lazio's Gustav] Isaksen? He's a good player, but every day people say we are interested in some player or another.
"We already have a great partnership up front, Lautaro and Thuram. I think they're the best in Italy, and they are up there with the best in Europe.
"It's clear that we are making a plan and we will bear in mind what the market has to offer, in order to create the best squad possible that will help us achieve our goals that we have laid out for ourselves"
