On March 20, the Italian official announced the squad list for the March international match day. Italy will participate in the World Cup European Qualifiers play-offs during this window, competing for the World Cup spot.

On March 27, Italy will play against Northern Ireland in the semi-finals of the World Cup European Qualifiers play-offs. If they can advance, the Azzurri will play against the winner between Wales and Bosnia and Herzegovina away in the early morning of April 1.
