Juventus are eyeing Chelsea striker Timo Werner or Manchester United's Anthony Martial if they fail to seal a deal for top target Alvaro Morata.
The Serie A giants have identified the Spain international as the perfect fit to complete boss Massimiliano Allegri's new-look front line alongside Dusan Vlahovic and Angel Di Maria.
The 29-year-old striker had a two-season spell from 2014-16 with Juve before Real Madrid activated their buy-back clause, but he then returned on a two-season loan from Atletico Madrid in 2020.
Morata has, however, returned to Atletico after the Italian side passed up on their £29.7m option to sign him permanently when his two-year loan expired in June, as they want to try and negotiate a lower fee, according to Sky Italy.
United forward Martial was of interest to Juve back in the January transfer window before he eventually joined Sevilla on loan.
The Frenchman has since returned to the Red Devils and made a positive impact in pre-season, which means United may now not want to sell the forward, who lead the line alongside Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho on their pre-season tour.
Unsettled Chelsea striker Werner is attracting tentative interest from former club Red Bull Leipzig, who received £49m for him when his release clause was met by the Blues two years ago.
The German forward has come under criticism from coach Thomas Tuchel and had been offered in talks with Juve for Matthijs de Ligt prior to his move to Bayern Munich.
The former Leipzig striker is among the most underwhelming pieces of business conducted by the Blues in recent years, scoring just 23 goals in 89 games since joining from RB Leipzig in a £53m deal in 2020.
The Old Lady boss Allegri has now listed Werner as a potential target in his list of attacking options this summer to complete his new-look front line.
He has struggled to cement a place in Tuchel's starting XI during his two seasons at Stamford Bridge. But now it appears he could have annoyed the German manager with what he is doing off the pitch too.
Speaking recently however, the Blues striker said he could 'be happy everywhere' and that it was 'clear' that he wants to play more ahead of the World Cup later this year.
He also appeared to take a subtle dig at Tuchel by saying: 'I think of course the manager always has different ideas, different thoughts and what you need in different games. I think in many games I was not in his thoughts so I try to change that.'
Tuchel responded by saying: 'I'm surprised, I would be very happy as a young guy having a contract at Chelsea Football Club.
'I would be one of the happiest people on the planet. He needs to get his game time by showing quality, take your place and defend your place.
'I would be one of the happiest people on the planet having a contract with Chelsea. If he said this, I do not understand.'

Sterling is a good buy, but Werner,Pulisic,Ziyech & even Havertz have not done well or played to ttheir potential. Defence as well as offense is their problem now. They should go for Moratta from AM & sell Werner. Go for Depay as he is better than Ziyech & Pullisic.

I think AF is trolling because Werner and martial are the only available striker in Chelsea and utd squad. sell them means they have to play player out of position like havetz in false 9 or rashford in the middle.
