Lamine Yamal has revealed the two stadiums he would love to play football in and his two favourite players after the 17-year-old was announced as a global ambassador for Beats by Dre.
‘There are so many I’ve yet to experience, especially outside of Europe, said Lamine, when asked what one stadium he’d love to play in.
‘In Europe, some of the iconic ones I'd like to play in are Old Trafford and Anfield,’ the Barcelona and Spain winger added.
Asked who his favourite current player outside of Barcelona was, Lamine highlighted two other attacking players.
‘Right now, outside of Barça, I think [Ousmane] Dembele or Bukayo Saka are doing really well,’ said Lamine.
Barcelona welcome Real Madrid in the El Clasico on Sunday, knowing that a win would put them seven points clear at the top of La Liga with just three games to go.
Though Hansi Flick’s side were knocked out by Inter Milan in the Champions League this week, they beat Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final are still on course for a league and cup double.
Asked for his all-time favourite El Clasico moment, Lamine mentioned the final from last month when Jules Kounde scored the winner in the 116th minute.
‘Well, there are a lot of historic ones, but now that I get to be part of it, I’d say the most recent Copa del Rey final,' said Yamal.
'The way the match played out - and the fact that we won!'
In the Beats campaign, Lamine - who is seen in a new light as CEO of Lamine Records - strives to find the perfect track for match day before a young fan finally gives him the inspiration he needs.
Lamine searches for the perfect beat considering various tracks including music by Spanish-Moroccan rapper Morad, who also makes a cameo appearance.
Morad is Lamine's favourite artist and there is huge love and respect between them, having both grown up in the same Spanish neighbourhood - the 304.
‘I love music for many reasons: it helps me focus before a match, it also helps me relax, and it's an escape into a world of fun,’ said Yamal.
‘For me, Beats is a cool, stylish brand that connects with my personality. I'm really happy to be working with them.’
This is the latest spot from Beats featuring global athletes, with Lamine joining Erling Haaland, Lionel Messi, LeBron James and others who to have featured in campaigns this year.
You're the self-proclaimed DJ in the locker room - how do you choose the tracks to hype up your teammates?
“It depends on the day. I’m always switching up rhythms and artists. I usually play rap, trap, and afro beats.”
Q&A
Who have you been listening to lately?
'Morad is always on the playlist. Myke Towers, some classic reggaetón...'
What kind of music helps you get ready for big moments?
'Besides the ones I mentioned, I’d say old-school rappers like 50 Cent and Eminem.
'I put on my Beats, turn up the volume, and get into game mode.'
Tell us a song or artist you love that we wouldn't expect from you.
'Maybe some flamenco…I don’t listen to it as often, but I really like it.'
What are your pre-match rituals with Beats by Dre?
'They travel with me everywhere. I usually use them to get into my own headspace - they help me focus.
'On flights, bus rides to the stadium, during the pitch walk-throughs - my Beats are always with me.'
