Laporta: It's the end of a cycle, I will make a lot of decisions

Joan Laporta has vowed to make big changes at Barcelona after the 2020/21 season has come to an end.

Pressure has been mounting on Ronald Koeman with the Catalans' recent collapse in the LaLiga Santander title race, and the Dutchman could well find himself out of work as soon as next week.

"I said that I'd evaluate at the end of the season depending on the results and performances," Laporta said.

"We won the Copa del Rey, and we're proud of that, but we were knocked out of the Champions League early and LaLiga [Santander] was lost incomprehensibly.

"From my point of view, you'll see that a lot of decision have to be made, starting next week. We'll comment on them then. We have to work hard and and have a competitive team in the Champions League and domestically.

"When I say that this is the end of a cycle, it's because that's what I think is necessary."

Laporta will meet with Ronald Koeman once the final game of the season has been played, and then he will start making decisions about the direction he wants to take the club in ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
