Lecce play coy as Inter Milan, Juventus watch Gabriel

Centre-back Gabriel landed in Italy and Serie A last January with Lecce, where his form and impact has proved crucial in coach Eusebio di Francesco's defence.

TMW says Lecce know they have a gem and are insisting publicly that Gabriel will not leave in January.

However, privately, Lecce would consider offers for the Portugal U21 international starting from €25m - a tactic they used last January regarding Patrick Dorgu and his eventual big money move to Manchester United.

Watching Gabriel closely are Serie A rivals Inter Milan and Juventus. The 20 year-old has a deal with Lecce to 2027, having joined at the beginning of the year from Estrela Amadora for €1.25m.
