According to Calciomercato and Milan Reports, the Serie A giants are keen to fix their centre-forward problem by signing a top striker at the end of his contract, which expires at the end of this season.

The Polish international has 108 goals and 20 assists in 159 appearances for the Catalan giants in all competitions. He has also grabbed seven goals in nine La Liga appearances this season, but Barcelona reportedly have zero interest in contract negotiations anytime soon.

“I still don’t know the answer. That’s why I’m in no hurry; I’m at peace with myself,” he told Goal, via Sport earlier this year.

“And that’s the most important thing. Even if, for example, the club contacted me now, I still wouldn’t answer that question. Because I also need to feel what’s best for me. Right now, I’m calm, I’m in no hurry, and at this moment, I’m not expecting anything more.”

GOAL also report that the San Siro hierarchy have already tested the waters with Lewandowski’s entourage, and a meeting is set to begin over the next few weeks over wage structure at the side.

Lewandowski currently earns €20M a year and would likely take a big pay cut if he makes the move. Reports state that former Barça star Ibrahimovic is one of the key voices in Milan pushing for a move for Lewandowski, with the though being that he could be a good role model for younger players.

The 37-year-old is seemingly reluctant to uproot his family, and Milan would be just a 2-hour flight away for the veteran striker who has built a life in Spain over the past few years.
