Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar has now given his approval to join Serie A side Roma in the summer.
There was previously talk of the Giallorossi trying to sign Aouar on a permanent basis on a free transfer in the summer. Sky Italia have reported that a total agreement has now been reached between the midfielder and Roma and only the formal signatures are missing, with the player joining the club on a free transfer in the summer.
Spanish side Real Betis have also been linked with a move for the Lyon midfielder but the Giallorossi have sealed the deal, with Manchester United also said to have made an enquiry about him in January.
Il Tempo have also reported the news, stating that Roma’s interest in Aouar dates back to the summer of 2022 but the move has now gone through.
The 24-year-old has made 14 Ligue 1 appearances this season, scoring one goal and picking up one assist.
