On Tuesday, meanwhile, the Independent claimed that the 28-year-old's former club, Tottenham Hotspur, have joined the race for his services.

A return to North London would reportedly involve Bale taking a pay cut, with the 'Cardiff Express' maintaining his current 11m-a-season wages but forced to give up additional income (which adds up to an annual 14m, says the Independent) received through commercial deals shared with Real Madrid. Nevertheless, Spurs are said to be confident that he can be swayed by the prospect of far more game time than he has been enjoying in Madrid.

Bayern needs a player like Bale and they will try to spend the max out of the three. The only competition will be from United, I don't think so spurs will be in the race for a long time. Unless, Real gives him a better deal. Deals have already been made with robben and ribery, Bale will be a added advantage and a boost to the team.
