Atalanta have accepted an offer rising to €85m from United for Hojlund.
The Dane arrived in Manchester on Tuesday night and has been undergoing his medical.
However, The Sun says a fans meet-and-greet, along with club media commitments, have been canceled.
It's suggested United are rethinking Hojlund's presentation and instead made the announcement around Saturday's home preseaso friendly against Lens.
