2 months from the starting of this season, the world of football has witnessed several teams changing their managers. Some of them can be expected, while others seemingly odd. We bring you the unfortunate managers that get sacked by today.

1.Nottingham Forest 

Sacked Manager: Nuno Espírito Santo

Sacking Date: August 29, 2025  

Reason: Public conflicts with club owner Evangelos Marinakis and sporting director Edu, severe disagreements over summer signings, and a sluggish start to the new season (1 win, 1 draw, 1 loss in 3 games).  

Successor: Ange Postecoglou, appointed swiftly on August 30, focusing on an attacking style of play.

2. Nottingham Forest

Sacked Manager: Ange Postecoglou

Date: October 18, 2025

Reason: A winless streak in 8 consecutive games (2 draws, 6 losses) across all competitions, including a humiliating 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea. His 39-day tenure became the shortest in Premier League history .

Successor: Sean Dyche, appointed on October 21 with a contract until 2027. The former Burnley and Everton manager is tasked with stabilizing the team, which currently sits in the relegation zone (5 points from 8 games) .

3. West Ham United  

Sacked Manager: Graham Potter  

Sacking Date: September 27, 2025  

Reason: Poor early-season form (1 win, 4 losses in 5 rounds), ranking second from bottom, with underwhelming offensive and defensive performances.  

Successor: Nuno Espírito Santo, who took over seamlessly on September 27 but only managed 1 draw and 2 losses in his first 3 games, leaving the team still under relegation pressure.

4. Bayer Leverkusen  

Sacked Manager: Erik ten Hag  

Sacking Date: September 1, 2025  

Reason: After only 62 days in charge, he secured 1 draw and 1 loss in the first 2 Bundesliga rounds; despite a win in the DFB-Pokal, his tactics were disorganized, and he had intense conflicts with the management over transfer strategies.  

Successor: Uwe Rösler, officially appointed on September 1 with a contract until 2027.

5. Juventus

Sacked Manager: Igor Tudor  

Sacking Date: October 27, 2025  

Reason: A low win rate of 41.7% in 24 games in charge, a three-game losing streak, and four consecutive goalless matches, which intensified locker room conflicts.  

Successor: Massimiliano Brambilla, in interim charge until a long-term manager is found; Luciano Spalletti and Fabio Paratici are top candidates.

6. Benfica

Sacked Manager: Bruno Lage  

Sacking Date: September 18, 2025  

Reason: Underwhelming early-season performances and disagreements with president Rui Costa over transfer strategies.  

Successor: José Mourinho, signed in a lightning deal on September 18 with a two-year contract, targeting Champions League qualification.

7. Beşiktaş

Sacked Manager: Ole Gunnar Solskjær  

Sacking Date: August 29, 2025  

Reason: Mediocre results during his tenure, strained relations with the management, and underwhelming summer signings.

Successor: Yalçın, with contract extends until 2027

8. Fenerbahçe 

Sacked Manager: José Mourinho  

Sacking Date: August 29, 2025  

Reason: Conflicts with the club’s top brass over transfer funds and tactical direction, coupled with poor performances in pre-season friendlies.

Successor: Domenico Tedesco, with contract extands until 2027

9. Glasgow Rangers

Sacked Manager: Russell Martin  

Sacking Date: October 6, 2025  

Reason: After only 4 months (123 days) in charge, the team won just 1 game in 7 league rounds (ranking 8th) and suffered 3 consecutive losses in European group stage matches. Fan protests escalated following a 1-1 draw with Falkirk.  

 Successor: Danny Röhl, appointed on October 21 with a two-and-a-half-year contract. He previously managed Sheffield Wednesday and kept the team in the EFL Championship.

10. Celtic FC

Previous Manager: Brendan Rodgers  

Departure Date: October 28, 2025  

Reason: Resigned suddenly, triggered by issues including locker room conflicts, tactical disputes, and underwhelming early-season performances. During his two spells at Celtic (totaling 8 years), he achieved a 69% win rate.  

Successor: Former manager Martin O’Neill and player Shaun Maloney have been appointed as interim co-managers; a permanent successor has not yet been confirmed.

11.  Sweden National Team

Sacked Manager: Jon Dahl Tomasson  

Sacking Date: October 15, 2025  

Reason: Secured only 1 point (1 draw, 3 losses) in the first 4 rounds of the 2026 FIFA World Cup European Qualifiers, finishing bottom of the group. He was dismissed after a 1-0 home defeat to Kosovo.  

Successor: Graham Potter, officially appointed on October 20 with a short-term contract. The contract will be extended until the World Cup proper if he leads the team to qualify.
