Matri lays the blame for Ferguson's form at the feet of Gasperini, who has been publicly critical for the Irish youngster, stating he "always prefers (Paulo) Dybala" as a false nine.
Matri, considering Roma's defeat at Juventus, told DAZN: "I don't think Ferguson took it very well, and I think Gasperini miscommunicated with him.
"It's true that he didn't keep much possession when he came on, but the goal still came from his movement."
