Napoli star Dries Mertens feels that Serie A giants Inter will provide a stuff Scudetto challenge to the rest of the contenders this season.

You must be confusing Conte with Spalletti and his tinpot mentality. We're talking about a man who won the PL in his first season with Chelsea and almost managed the worst Italian side in years to an EURO semifinal. He won't get worked out by divas at Inter like Chelsea.

Inter, Roma, Lazio, Milan, Atalanta would all be definities or in the mix. Torino and Sampdoria are also very good. All those team definitely wouldn’t crack the PL top 6; so they are only competing for 4 spots and like you said thats not definite they’d make it. So again my statement (maybe too harsh) but not preposterous. To support my statement look at encounters between Italian teams and PL teams in the UCL, other than Juve and Napoli EPL teams usually come up on top.
