The Italian forward has stuck up for the two star players after their respective Champions League defeats this season
Neither Lionel Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo will play in the Champions League final for the first time since 2013, but Mario Balotelli does not believe they should be criticised.
Posting on his Instagram story after Barca's 4-0 defeat at Anfield, which resulted in a 4-3 aggregate defeat, Balotelli wrote: "Messi is an alien, despite the bad and very difficult match.
"Ronaldo remains the best player from this planet, despite not having played in the semi-finals.
"Anything else is nonsense talk. You cannot say bad things against these two for a game played badly or a missed qualification or a defeat. That would be crazy."

I'll tell you this. For me, I'll never make any comparison between these two, ever again. Truth is, I'm fortunate to ve watched them in my generation. One is a gift while the other is a product of sheer hardwork. Remember, hardwork beats talent when talent refuse to work hard.

Point is, Messi is stoppable. He's not the alien beat in history savior. He's a great player, but he's nothing special. He has his trophies but others do too. Ronaldo is still the best player in champion's.

I detest this talk of sayin Messi has talent and he isn't from ths planet, while Ronaldo is a result of hardwork and only a product of ths world. Guys personally I love both of them but we should learn 2 gve better motions when w debate. ar u guys telling me that scoring wth both feet, head and breaking records isn't pure talent too? Football talents differ depending on th gift. let's appreciate both of them coz we are lucky to live in th same error wth them. Messi and Ronaldo ar all talented and when thy retire we ar going to look back and say these guys were the greatest of all time. until then, w should seat back and enjoy thre different talents.

This guy is contradicting his last week statements...Messi dropped him n now they shadow by addition Ronaldo on their statements and complimenting his, where were this compliment last were when Messi scored 2 goals? Everybody performs to the bst of abilities if they are in their comfort zone. And Barca is that zone for Messi. He cannot survive outside Barca. I can guarantee you that. So, the correction is Ronaldo makes the bst of out his mates while Messi gets things like lollypop.
