Milan look to have missed out on Ozan Kabak as the Stuttgart defender has chosen to join Schalke.

Milan have been locked in talks for Ozan after they expressed a willingness to pay his €15m release clause.

However, Sport Bild believes the 19-year-old is staying in Germany with Schalke as opposed to Bayern, who had also been in negotiations with his representatives.

The website explains Schalke’s Michael Reschke was the key, the sporting director having brought the Turk to Stuttgart in January.

As for Bayern, it is claimed they wanted to address Jerome Boateng’s future before committing to buy.

Sky Sport Deutschland agrees Kabak has agreed to join the Royal Blues but stresses they have yet to negotiate a fee with Stuttgart.
