Monaco did make an offer for Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, but Sky Sport Italia insist it was rejected outright by both club and player.
RMC Sport had reported this evening that Monaco were in negotiations for the Ivory Coast international with a €20m proposal.
This would be considerably less than the amount the Rossoneri spent for him, as he arrived on a two-year loan from Atalanta for €8m with obligation to buy in 2019 for a further €24m.
It is therefore no surprise that Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio claims Milan and Kessie rejected the offer as being far too low.
Kessie would only be allowed to leave for a bid in the region of €40m and the player is interested solely in a very big club that would represent a step up in his career.

Milan needs Kessie to compete with Bennacer & Krunic.Kessie is a pillar as defensive midfielder so we shouldn't sell him but only when we making profit.A valuable asset like Kessie must never be sold cheap

Put kessie in a midfield where he has to play ONLY his box to box role without covering the holes of biglia/baka suso and he's second only to kante in his role...oh and he is like 25 yet I guess?
he is 22

To be fair they are different players. But we need more of a Torreira now then a Kessie.

Yes I’d rather keep Kessie

New coach, so we might be looking for midfielders with different characteristics than what we had in the last couple of seasons. It seems we are looking for midfielders who are stronger technically and more tactically versatile. Personally I'd like to keep Kessie though. I think he's a valuable player if he isn't so overused as he currently is.

He was also amazing when he played for us. I'm happy he still is performing that well.

It is a bad deal, we trade an essential midfielder (somewhere we lack decent players anyway) for a decent LB.

I’d rather have Kessie than Torreira. Strange this

I feel like this is a ploy of him and his agent to get a higher contract.

Total lack of end product, but other than that, an absolute freak of a midfielder. Just a completely destructive player in attack and defense. If it were up to me, Torreira is not worth losing Kessie.

As someone who has seen maybe 5 minutes of Kessie playing, I'm wondering this as well

From a premier league point of view, Kessie would suit Arsenal far more than Torreira I think.

However, many of us still believe in him. If he can polish the offensive side of his game he can truly be an elite midfielder.

Kessié is a frustrating player. Physically and defensively he is an absolute beast, and he has good off the ball movement that often makes him end up in dangerous positions offensively due to his pace and dynamism. However, his decision-making in the final third is very poor, so he often wastes chances with a misplaced pass or a bad shot.

Why would the be interested in selling a player for 20m euro when they just purchased him for 24 m euro?
