Milan are close to being taken over by the Louis Vuitton group (Forbes)

An interesting report has emerged from business and finance outlet Forbes suggesting that AC Milan are close to being taken over by the Louis Vuitton group.

Bernard Arnault – the owner of LVMH – continues to be linked with the big-money acquisition of the Rossoneri despite his numerous denials in the press – though he did recently admit his love for the club.

Our correspondent Vito Angele informed us that he had learned through a friend of Ariedo Braida that talks have progressed to the extent that Arnault is close to sealing a deal worth almost €1billion to buy the Rossoneri.

La Repubblica insisted meanwhile that Arnault has tabled a €975m bid to buy Milan.

Now, an interesting article has emerged from Forbes, which begins with a definitive statement from the financial source.

'AC Milan, a historically significant soccer/football team in Italy, is in agreement with, and soon, will be owned by the most significant luxury conglomerate in the world, LVMH,' it reads.

The article comes from Michael Gale, who is a best-selling author who specialises in the field of business transforming and adapting their strategies, something which he believes Louis Vuitton would be doing by buying Milan.

He cites the various merchandising opportunities that would arise and the ability to compete with the likes of Nike and Puma in the sportswear sector, as well as the added exposure that the brand would get through entering a new sector.

Although no further details are provided with regards to the deal, the article is written in a presumptuous tone, as if the sale is a formality.
