Mattia Caldara is expected to be out of action for “five to six months” after Milan confirmed surgery for a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
He already went under the knife today and Professor Pier Paolo Mariani reconstructed the tendon and the anterior cruciate ligament.
“The recovery time is expected to be five to six months.”
The extremely unlucky centre-back has been beset by injuries in his career between Atalanta, Juventus and Milan.
He only made two appearances for the Rossoneri this season in the Europa League and Coppa Italia due to an Achilles tendon issue.
That kept him on the touchline from October to February, while he also struggled with muscular problems.
Caldara will mark his 25th birthday on Sunday and has two senior Italy caps to his name.

Failed trade off for Bonucci. We really has a bad business mind. Give away a good defensive genius and get 2 failures in return. Well, it's unfair to deem caldara that since he is injury prone. But with Bonucci at defensive stronghold, we will definitely see different results. That's sad.
