Milan could prepare a revolution, with Paolo Maldini and Zvonimir Boban sacked to give Ralf Rangnick full powers as coach and director of sport, claims Calciomercato.com.
The website claims that owners Elliott Management and CEO Ivan Gazidis, want to make sweeping changes to the structure of the club after what has been a poor start to the season by the Rossoneri.
Coach Marco Giampaolo lasted three months in the job before being sacked and replaced by Stefano Pioli.
Calciomercato.com suggest that Gazidis and Elliott are looking at former Stuttgart, Schalke and RB Leipzig coach Ralf Rangnick as a potential candidate for a position that’s unheard of in the Italian game.
Rangnick would have a role almost equivalent to the one Sir Alex Ferguson enjoyed at Manchester United. The German would be coach, chief scout and also director of sport of the Rossoneri, essentially having full autonomy over the playing side of the club.
Paolo Maldini and Zvonimir Boban would be relieved of their current roles, as there have been reports of differences in philosophies between the former two Milan players and Gazidis.
Rangnick left his role as coach of RB Leipzig at the end of last season and is currently head of development for the Red Bull organisation that owns Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg in Austria.

Elliot is confused. Milan were better with Leonardo and Gattuso. I think Gazidis is the problem of Milan. This was the same reason why Leonardo and Gattuso resigned. As for Maldini, he put himself in Leonardo's shoes, now he knows where it pinches. Elliot should sack gazidis and bring back Leonardo and Gattuso or sell the club.

Bringing Rangnick will not solve the problem. As long as Gazidis is still there, the problem of differences in philosophies will keep reoccurring.

Sorry Italia legend for my harsh words for u but I have to say this. last season maldini criticised lenardo for finishing 5th on the table but now under him they are even worse than last yr. it's easy for anyone to seat at home/studio room and talk trash about other managers/directors but when u are at that position u understand what's is really going on inside.

Gazidis is destroying Milan just the same way he’s did at arsenal Gattuso and Leonardo asked for investments one in defense, midfield and attack ... but he disagreed and have them resigned... Last season maldini and boban tried to sign Correa, lovren, Kabak and a midfielder... he didn’t approve them even if we were a few millions away. He disagreed This isn’t England or Germany where it’s less tactical and faster (great for inexperienced young players)... This is Italy, where it’s very experienced and tactical... A team full of young potentials-and less tactical experience won’t go far... It’s not a league of speed or skills!! It’s a league of experience and tactical brilliance!! CAN SOMEONE NEW JUSTBUY MILAN AND SACK ‘mango head’ gazidis already

it's really sad to see what the once mighty Milan has become. Clearly a major shake up is needed, but is this the best direction???? I'm not so sure. Firstly, we need to invest in 2-3 proven world class players ( not world class players that have passed their prime) Its all well to trust in the youth, but the both must be done hand in hand. Secondly, a coach with a winning mentality is needed. The name Ancellotti automatically springs to mind. With Napoli languishing where they are, now is the opportune time to make a move for him. A sense of identity is also needed. Milan has enough prestige to attract all of the above, certainly glory days to come are a practical expectation. True Milan supporters must support their side, in ups and down down times. Come in Milan, we can do this.....FORZA MILAN!!!!!!
