Monaco striker Pietro Pellegri has officially pulled out of Italy’s Nations League squad with injury.
Pellegri received his first-ever call-up to the senior squad for matches against Poland and Portugal, but a statement on the FIGC’s official website explained he would not take part in training on Friday ‘after tests carried out’.
Consequently, the Azzurri and his club have agreed that the teenager will return to hospital to be treated.
La Nazionale kick off their campaign against Poland on Friday, before travelling to Portugal three days later.
