Montella: Inter are strong & are deservedly fighting with Juve for first place

Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella touched on his opponents tomorrow, Inter, when speaking to gathered reporters in a press conference, with Italian media outlet FcInterNews noting his words.

“I expect a strong team that are fighting deservedly against Juventus for first place. Inter have strength and temperament, strength in attack. It will be a match of the highest level.”

He then touched on the injured French forward Franck Ribery, who won't be able to play against the Nerazzurri tomorrow.

“It has been a special week for everyone, for the club and the team but especially for Franck who has proved to be a great man. I wish him well. I've been injured many times in my career, but I've always gotten up. I'm full and lucid, I have a great desire for revenge and from this point of view I'm very serene. The team will react and put everything onto the pitch.”

Montella then spoke about how close-knit the squad are.

“I can feel it, in words and deeds, the team are very united, and I'm convinced that tomorrow the players will play with any form of energy on the pitch. I push them every day for the good of Fiorentina, I'm pleased with these certificates of esteem.”

The Fiorentina coach discussed Inter transfer target Federico Chiesa.

“We expect a lot from him, but we must not rely on him alone.”

Finally, Montella gave his thoughts about two Nerazzurri stars this season, Lautaro Martinez and coach Antonio Conte.

“What do I think of the Argentinean? He's a very strong player, he's been paid twenty million, he knows how to play for the team, he's strong, he's clinical and despite the first year of difficulty he's settling in well. Conte? He created a mentality in a short time, the team has a nature like their coach.”
