José Mourinho has been appointed Roma coach, and he had hinted he could have returned to Serie A in his last interview.
The Special One is the last foreign coach to have won Serie A. It happened in 2009-10 when he also conquered the treble with Inter before moving to Real Madrid.
His achievements in the Nerazzurri dug-out make him one of the most loved coaches by the Nerazzurri fans, who will meet him for the first time in 11 years next season.
Roma’s announcement came as a huge surprise as several reports in Italy had claimed Sarri was close to reaching an agreement with the Giallorossi to replace departing coach Paulo Fonseca.
However, the Special One had suggested he would have returned to Serie A to coach one of Inter’s rivals.
“I won everything with Inter. There is a special affection. But if one day I have to go to Italy and coach a rival club, I don’t think twice. I have this professional way of look at things. I feel good with myself,” he told The Times last weekend.
It’s fair to say that day arrived earlier than anyone expected.
When Roma face Inter next season, Mourinho will meet his ‘old enemy’ Antonio Conte with whom he had several arguments back in their Premier League days.

my greatest heroes in football are CR7 and Mourinho who always shifts my in the clubs they're contacting for. Now with both of them in different Serie A Clubs, I'll also be indifferent.

He just said a day or two ago, he knew he was going to Roma. Things don't just happen overnight. Anyway, as an Inter supporter (aside from Real Madrid) I'm not worried about Roma next season. And, always respect for Mourinho for winning titles for both Inter and Real Madrid.
